Common HVAC Systems We Work On
Our HVAC technicians work on all makes and models to optimize comfort and efficiency in your home.
Here are some common HVAC systems we handle:
Split HVAC System
A split system separates HVAC components into one indoor unit (containing the evaporator coil and blower) and one outdoor unit (containing the condenser and compressor), which are connected by refrigerant lines. They can be a great choice for larger homes and older properties that lack space or traditional ductwork.
Regular maintenance of split systems is crucial to supporting their efficiency and longevity. We offer seasonal check-ups and cleaning services to help keep the system free of dirt and debris, which can impede airflow and reduce efficiency. Our technicians stay up to date with the latest technological advancements, helping your system operate with strong efficiency.
Packaged HVAC System
Unlike split systems, a packaged HVAC system is an “all-in-one” unit that houses all HVAC components within a single unit, including the compressor, condenser, evaporator coil, and air handler. Their compact design makes them an excellent option for smaller homes.
Packaged systems are ideal for saving space while maintaining robust performance. Our team works to keep these systems properly sealed and maintained to avoid inefficiencies. We provide detailed guidance on selecting the most suitable model for your home's specific needs and perform installations that follow all manufacturer recommendations.
Hybrid HVAC System
Also known as a dual-fuel system, a hybrid HVAC system combines a heat pump and a furnace. It automatically alternates between gas and electricity to regulate your home's temperature. Its strong efficiency and versatility make this system a popular choice in Central Illinois.
Our technicians can guide you in maximizing the benefits of hybrid systems, including potential energy savings and reduced environmental impact. We provide insights into how these systems can complement renewable energy sources to create a more sustainable home environment.
Zoned HVAC System
A zoned system offers customized temperature control in individual “zones” of your home, each with its own thermostat. These systems are highly customizable and energy efficient, making them a great option for multi-level homes and properties with specific heating and cooling needs.
With precise temperature management and zoning, you can enjoy tailored comfort in every area of your home. Our team will collaborate with you to design a zoning system that fits your lifestyle, supporting comfort and efficiency without excessive energy consumption.

What is the SEER Rating? The SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) is how the efficiency of your heating and cooling equipment is measured. The SEER is the amount of cooling your system will deliver per dollar spent on electricity, as compared to other systems. For example, a 3-ton unit may have a SEER efficiency rating of 13, 14, or 15. The higher the SEER the more efficient the system will be. The SEER rating of any given unit can range anywhere from 13 to 20.
-
Why is the SEER rating on the energy guide different than what my dealer quoted?S.E.E.R. stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating, which tells you the cooling efficiency of your unit. The SEER rating on an energy guide tells you the “up to” SEER rating potential of an air conditioner or heat pump. The higher the rating, the more energy savings you will experience. The actual SEER rating of a system is based on the pairing of that AC/heat pump unit with its associated refrigerant coil and furnace blower motor. Together, they act as a “team” to produce conditioned air as efficiently as possible based on their combined maximum ability and functionality. An HVAC professional is trained to maximize this pairing by suggesting units that will match your desire for equipment economy vs. energy efficiency. The more efficient systems tend to cost more initially, but the homeowner or business owner will recoup that money in energy savings over time. You will actually spend less in the long run by purchasing a more expensive, higher efficiency system, as it can significantly reduce your energy consumption, and in turn lower the power bill.
-
Why do I need regular (or preventative) HVAC maintenance?Investing in regular preventative maintenance on your equipment provides you with three crucial things: 1) peace of mind that a trained professional will identify issues and repair your system, potentially preventing a major breakdown before it arises, 2) increased energy efficiency, and 3) the protection of your equipment’s warranty. Preventative maintenance from a trained HVAC professional allows you to pinpoint and address issues with your system, which can increase the overall life expectancy of your equipment. It also ensures your equipment is running as effectively as possible, increasing your overall energy efficiency and saving you money on your utility bills over time. In addition, regular equipment maintenance by a trained HVAC professional is often a requirement to protect your equipment’s warranty from the manufacturer. Neglecting or skipping regular equipment maintenance– even just once– can void a manufacturer’s warranty on your equipment.
