Jon came out to investigate and determine if recent gas-like smells that lasted through the past couple of nights were furnace related. Following thorough inspections and testing, he explained and showed me what he was testing in the unit for my info and peace of mind after losing 2 nights of sleep and dealing with moderate headaches from whatever this is. Jon provided instruction by showing me the shut off areas for the gas if it should happen again and then to call Mattex for an apt the next business day if this occurs after 9 pm. BL: His analysis shows the furnace is in good working order; his knowledge of the parts of my furnace and how they work provided welcome knowledge, and best of all, I don't have to be afraid to use it. I will be researching possible further areas this could be coming from in my home after being assured it's not the furnace. Jon is an excellent, kind service person; I would request him in the future if something comes up.

You get what you pay for! They're not the cheapest, but they're 100% reliable. You call—they schedule you and actually show up. Spent months playing phone tag with multiple other plumber companies previously with the need to find a water leak. Mattex has been the most consistent and most reliable so far every time I've called them. One of their plumbers did happen to cause a leak to be exponentially worse about a year ago, but they sent another tech out that evening in 25-degree weather to make sure my crawl space wasn't flooding when the water was turned back on and to make sure I had water that wasn't going to freeze and make things worse that night. Tim is my favorite tech so far; he's put up with me at my worst and maintained his professionalism. I definitely recommend them.

Just a few days later, Jamie and his partner came out and removed my old units and put in the new ones. Poor guys ended up needing to brace the flooring and drain. Turned out my old unit was well past needing replaced. I am sorry it was so much work for the guys, but grateful for everyone's help! Very pleased with the service!
